.emp file ? and ai attack more ?

Anybody know what and how to open/modify .emp
file extension and what file controls the attacking rate by the AI?
I'm trying to learn more about modifying
the AI to send fleets to human planets more
frequently. I had only my home planet, no
ships, just ground defences; the AI had 5
planets, about 8 ships and I hit end turn
25 times, ai was at war with me(i had to modify AI aggressiveness to declare war), and the AI didn't even enter my quadrant. The AI needs to send a scout to check me out then attack my planet (the Ai should be able to "see" my defences and all my planets to make a decision if it can win an attack)-just like Moo2-it shouldn't blindly attack if it's going to lose all it's ships.

I know that the AI does check the planets for defenses, because I had created a colony in an enemy system and immediately built some WPs... AI wouldn't attack, but as soon as I removed them to upgrade them... he was all over the planet, and needless to say, glassed it.

The .emp file is created when you save the race. I think it hold the basic race settings, ie points allocated, picture set used. the traits file contents, etc. I don't think you can open and modify it.

Of course you can modify it. You open the file (race) it in the empire creation screen and klick on "edit" then you can also save the .emp file. I suggest you would call it something else so you don't overwrite the original.

CRANEX,
if you want to tamper with the AI files they can be found in the RACE folders under the PICTURES folder (I know its a cracy thing to put the AI files under the PICTURES folder).

My advice to you is that you wait for upgrades instead - because I've found that tampering with the AI files could be "buggy".

AI files can also be found under the AI folder (of course). But these are the default files (not sure what that means exacly - I think they are substitutes for the races AI files if the program can't find them). I do suggest that you check them out - but have patience if you're going to tamper with them (unless you're a genious or something).
