Changing System Names
 

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere.

I've read the FAQ, manual and searched the boards, but can someone tell me how to rename my system names ingame?

I'm playing Space Empires IV Gold 1.9.1
Is it possible or do I need to edit the gamefiles or something? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Can't do it. You can rename planets, though. Just hit N or the 'Name' icon with the planet (or ship) selected...

having said that, you can edit the systemnames.txt (or something like that) file to give your games the 'feel' you're looking for. There are lots of modd'ed system names files floating around out there, ranging from the actual stars we know to the fantastical...

I'm sure the links thread has some leads on where to find them...
