where do they come from
Food for thought.
When you construct a colony ship and send it off to colonise a planet, where does the population come from? shouldn't it decrease the planets population that you constructed the ship from, or does it? I haven't checked this out myself (the thought just occured to me while on this forum). The same applies to population transporters I've had population transporters with 1800 peeps on board for a ringworld. Any thoughts? tic |
Re: where do they come from
When you press the 'Colonize' button, the game automatically transfers the maximum population from the planet to the colony ship. The population on the colony decreases by this amount. The three colonization modules have enough cargo space for 4M colonists each.

Re: where do they come from
There is also a line in the setting file where I think you can make the colonization module itself turn into people.
Automatic Colonization Population := 0 And I think if you have any pop onboard it will not do the auto transfer of pop for you. If the cargo is empty though it will fill the colony ship to capacity upto leaving 1 behind on the planet. I do this quite often when using a low reproduction race so when I colonize a outlying world I can colonize more than one from there |
