Is there a Save Game Editor???

Does anybody know if there is a save game editor for SEIV. If not does anybody have any suggestions for making a scenario without having to play all the races involved in it? AND going thru all the turns to "set up" the scenario the way you want it?

The save game files are encrypted and there is no save game editor.

There is no way to setup a scenario as you describe without having to play it to that point.

Thanks CK!
Well then, does anybody know if SEV is going to have a scenario builder? [ I sure hope so! ] http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

I'm not sure if MM will include a scenario builder with SE:V, perhaps as an addition later on if the game is successful. It'd certainly take a chunk of time to do.

There is a save game, hex type editor, but it was viewed as a cheat long ago and the person who made it has not been here going on four years now. I think he was even banned from PBW for cheating IIRC.

I guess the whole thing with a Save game editor not being in is that it could lead to some form of cheating in PBW/PBEM games...unless the game file greated for them is different than say something to use for modifing...

Re: Is there a Save Game Editor???

Yeah, I can see the reason for no save game editor, but maybe the PBW-PBEM games should be encrypted while the standard games are saved in an open format. It would be a good idea to include a scenario builder of some type in any future releases as making a scenario these days is a long process. I'm working on one now and it's been a lot of work to set the situation for the scenario. I've found that editing the settings.txt to be very helpful.
