WinSPMBT Island Civil War Combat Campaign Ends!
 

The WinSPMBT Island Civil War Combat Campaign going on over in the Steel Panthers Section of GameSquad has come to an end with Rebel Forces laying down their arms. After weeks of heavy fighting and under sustained assault on 2 fronts by local Government troops and substantially better armed United Nations forces the Rebel Commander issued the following statement.

Our glorious fight against the imperialists and their puppets ended. Despite the support of the people, we did not achieve our objectives. Foreign armies invaded our land, and installed their puppet government.

To end the terrible suffering of our nation, we decided to lay down arms. Yesterday our forces ceased hostilities, and started to turn in our weapons to UN forces. From now on, they will protect the people against the tyranny of our government. I call on all of your units to end fighting, and surrender to UN forces. From G, you may leave Westward, under the protection of the international forces.

Our leadership accepted the generous offer of the friendly Cuban nation. But when the political situation will change, and the Revolution will triumph all over the world, we (or our sons) will return, and free the nation!

NOTE: The Secure Team Forums will be open to the Public soon so everyone can follow the Campaign from beginning to end.

If you are interested in participating in the next Combat Campaign, NATO vs Warsaw Pact - May 1985, you should check out the coming announcements and details concerning that Campaign over at SZO.

A Poll will be set up over at SZO in the coming days for those interested to voice their preferences about what unit/side and command level they would like to participate with.

You can also post a note here if you are interested BUT the primary place for participation will be over at SZO since there will need to be secure forums access areas for each team.

Very interresting way of playing the game, I'm doing a such project and I'am happy to see I'm not alone... Good Luck for the new campain!

There are actually a couple people out there doing similar thngs BUT they are very time consuming and it helps to have some added tools to help administer it.

All security settings for the SPMBT:Island Civil War Combat Campaign forums over at ACG/SZO have been removed and they should now be readable by the general public.

I just want to add my voice to thank DD for all his effort for bringing this to us.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the battles and planning I was involved in. Great stuff, heres to the next one;)

I suspect the next one will not start till DD gets his CD toolset.

The Rebels fought hard but in the end it was a matter of attrition.

I opened the "secure" forum sections that each team had available to them where they were posting orders and plotting strategy. I have updated the link in this thread to the new GameSquad URL in case anyone wants to read up on how things went.
