Fleet Formation

Mephisto's mod 1.61

I assembled all of my ring/sphere world ships into a fleet (Delta). After a few turns i looked in the ships/units report window and although i could see the individual ships, there was no Delta fleet listed, i checked through all the existing AI produced fleets 1 - 19 and Delta fleet was not among them. Any help here guys?

Yes, I've had some fleets disappear, too. I've not been able to isolate it yet. When I can notice the exact turn that a fleet disappears and leaves the ships behind I'll send a savegame to MM. I wonder if this is happening to the AI also, and if it is disrupting strategy pretty badly.

The only time I can remember losing a fleet was when one of the ships was hit with a "Change Orders" intel attack. The ship broke off from the fleet, disbanding it in the process.

Iv'e formed a fleet several times and have checked for its entry after 1 to 4 turns and it's not listed as a fleet only the individual ships, there are no anomalies or AI intel occurances. What caught my eye to this was after i assigned the fleet to goto another system, they carried out their orders up to where movement was used up, after the next turn, they stayed where they were, clicking on the ships revealed the fleet name and list of ships, but there is no entry in the ship/unit report, so i cannot re-assign my fleet but only assign the idividual ships.

Do you use any of the ministers? Maybe one of those is causing the fleet to break up...

I reloaded up a previous savegame and built the ring world construction ships with every minister disabled, but i got the same results so the prob does not appear to evolve from that. There is probably a simple answer to this, but going through the motions logically it doesn't happen.

I haven't had fleets disappear but I have had ships disappear in Tactical mode. They were not in range of any weapons nor were they hit. They didn't go over to the enemy, nor could I find them anywhere on the regular map or anywhere else in tactical.
For exmple, had 10 ships all types, vs 15 crystal dreds, my 2 middle ships just disappeared. After action battle reports showed they had been destroyed. They never fired nor took any hits, enemy fleet not even in range..... mac

Did you have fast tactical combat going? Reason I ask is because the only time I have seen this phenomenon is when tactical combat is set to fast, the hits are happening - they just dont display correctly ... especially when the ships are near the edge of the tactical combat screen.
Although you said the ships were not in range.. weird, I have never seen this happen.

As for the fleet disbanding - it seems to happen when one or more ships for one reason or another are removed from the fleet by the game like and event or intel. Its been something I have been sending saved games to MM about several times myself.

My fleet was formed in peacetime, there is no engagement, i can see the ships grouped together on the main display where they ended their movement turn, if i click on the fleet the individual ships that make up the fleet are displayed, but the fleet is not displayed in the ships/units window only the individual ships that make up the fleet are there. So i have to assign each individual ships new orders and not as a fleet.
