OT: Bad Luck
 

A couple of weeks ago my step father was hualing some hay when his load of hay cought on fire and burned his new, used, truck up. It was a very nice truck, fully loaded with all the extras.

I ran up their and took these images and while we were eating dinner in some resterount some one stoled my digital camera. Two days ago my Mom stopped at a garage sale and low and behold there was my camera, complete with the pictures I had taken. The lady at the sale said it was her's, but my mom was having none of it. They wanted $60,00 for a $1,200.00 Sony Digital Video Camera, duh. My mom didn't even pay, she just walked up to the lady said, I am taking my Sons camera back and telling everyone here, out loud, that you are a "God Damn Theif." http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Way to go mom.

The lady threatened to call the cops, my mom laughed and told her to do it. She did not, and well today I got my camera back. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I am very happy. Just goes to show you, some criminals are really stupid. $60.00 OMFG! (They don't have hawk shops up there, so I was really lucky my mom stopped at the sale. $60.00 to some of those folks is like $600.00 to us.)

Yes, they did, they don't fool around with fire up their. To much could go up in smoke to quickly. Still don't know what caused it though. He was only about a mile and a half way from where he got the hay so the popular belief is that someone their toss a ciggerette into the hay by accident, or not. Some of those poeple are inbreed so calling a stupid *** stunt like setting someones load of hay on fire an accident explains away the need to lock the pyromanic's up their up.

Isn't it weird just how terrifying mothers can be? Mine is only 5ft 4 and about as skinny as me and looks pretty Harmless. Yet every last one of my friends has said that they would rather walk hot coals than annoy her. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

As for the truck, well, bad luck indeed - very bad luck. However, the camera recovery is only good luck, isn't it?

The insurance company has offered them a fair market value settlement for it. I think they are pleased with it. I didn't ask.
