Ritual of Rebirth?
Heh. The spell description doesn't say it has to be your own dead hero you bring back - anyone know if you can summon another's nation's fallen from the grave? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Ritual of Rebirth?
Your own only, I believe.

Re: Ritual of Rebirth?
Yep, no stealing anybody else's heroes, unfortunately. And only the first ten of the HoF. *grumble*

Re: Ritual of Rebirth?
First 10, or just the current visible list, in a game with a larger HOF?

Re: Ritual of Rebirth?
Just the first ten, no matter the size of the HoF. This is not a bug related to the HoF itself, but a bug in the spell. The spell is hardcoded to consider the first ten entries of the HoF instead of referencing a variable containing the number of HoF entries. It's bloody annoying, to say the least.

Ah, yes, and good to know, thanks.

Re: Ritual of Rebirth?
stupid bug. first time i found this out i tried 3 times to bring back my "number 12 on the HOF list" - I had already brought back 3 giant/niefel giant mummies, and sure wanted my fourth...
One nice thing is that the heroic abilities continue improving while they're lying around dead in the HOF... had another giant mummy w/ heroic MR +7 IIRC - gave him kurgi's gift http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Ritual of Rebirth?
It's also funny how powerful regular mages with heroic endurance (or whatever it was that gave extra hit points) become when brought back. Because the ability works off the basis of percentage of base hit points, and the base hit points of the mummy being around 35 instead of more normal 10 or 11 and when you have 100%+ improvement of the ability...
