Nitpicking Time Period

First of all, I want to say, "Excellent Job!" and am eagerly awaiting WinSPWW2! I want to ask a (nitpicking) question though. Everything in the game (manual, labels, etc.) say 1946-2020. If I try to create a battle from scratch, the earliest I can make the date is May 1948. I am playing on the purchased CD version. Is this an oversight?

What 2 nations are you trying to create a battle with? - is it one whose earliest date is 1948 (like Israel)?.

The date is not allowed to go before the latest start date or after the earliest finish date of any of the OOB(s) in use.

You can find the national availability dates in the manual, at the bottom of the "Historical design notes" section.
