Mind Control?

During fleet combat, my enemy managed to turn one of my warships against my other ships. Mind control of a sorts. Specifically,
what was the enemy using to accomplish this?

Allegiance Subverter (one shot weapon from the psychic tech tree) or possibly even Boarding Parties from the military science tech path. Depends whether it was a ranged attack or a ship moved next to a shieldless ship of yours.
