Poll: Fanfic Subforum - AXED -
 

Well, with the subforums currently well in effect, it looks to me like there's room for a fifth subforum:

A Fanfic Subforum.

What with all the fanfics scattered about here, and at least one currently in effect in the After Action Reports subforum, it seems to me that a Fanfic Subforum wouldn't be too much to ask. All Fanfics currently in existance (existence?) should be moved there, as well as all future fanfics. This would put more focus on fanfics, and might increase the number of people who read them. Especially for dead fanfics, or those with a long time between updates (nervous laugh), it could be an excellent place to rest, perhaps attracting new people who'd never get to read them otherwise.

There is already a fan-fiction forum. It's called after action reports...

@Kwok: Yes, but what about other fanfics? To name a few: Othaglot and Cane, The Demise? Btw, it's not immediately clear that it's a fanfic forum. I've only looked at it first today, just before making this post.

@Fyron: I'm not trying to do that (in fact I didn't even know there was a fanfic forum on SEnet, well at least I'd forgotten it), however there are more people on this forum than on the SEnet forum, and so if you post your fanfic here it'll attract more readers. However, in the After Action Reports, there's a chance that it'll not be noticed (like I did), and on the main forum it'll quickly be drowned in a clutter of other threads about other topics, and so your window of opportunity to draw a reasonable audience is small, whereas on SEnet, you probably won't even draw as much of an audience as you could draw here.

edit: btw, the fanfic forum on SEnet seems dead to me anyways so I'd need a helluva lot of luck to kill it.

Vaugely relavent point. Meister Azatol is the only person plugging away on the only story/AAR/whatever of the AAR board. I would give words of support and advice, because having attempted such stuff before I know how useful and encouraging feedback is. However it just doesn't seem right, maybe it's just me. Neither did I; hence, this poll. I also don't think that many newly-registered people will recognize the After Action Reports as a fanfics forum. Making a Fanfic Subforum - or simply renaming the AAR subforum to the Fanfic Subforum - would make this all much clearer.

Richard was not keen on the idea of renaming it to the more appropriate Fan Fiction forum when it first appeared... I don't think we will get it changed, or get another added... So, let's stick to SEnet for fan fiction posting. No, I am not biased in any way.

Oh, well, I guess that axes the purpose of this poll. Oh well.
