Rebellion Ship Set
I have gotten a few emails asking about the status of the Rebellion ship set. All though I am far from done you can take a look at the Work In Progress. Since it is a work in progress there are missing images. So yes, I know there are missing images.

Re: Rebellion Ship Set
I like. There is no dreadnought, but it is better without.

Re: Rebellion Ship Set
What do you mean no dreadnought? There is a dreadnought. A dauntless class to be specific.

Re: Rebellion Ship Set
Canīt see Dreadnought. Closest ship is Destroyer, but engine section is too large. If you mean Dauntless Cruiser, it isnīt dreadnought. This is dreadnought

Re: Rebellion Ship Set
The description provisded at the web site is kinda confusing. First it calsses it as a dreadnaught Frigate, then it calls it a dreadnaught, then a cruiser, then calls it smaller than a destroyer????

Re: Rebellion Ship Set
You have to remember that in Star Wars the size classes are very different from what we are familiar to. Destroyers can refer to Star Destroyers which are also called Star Cruisers. Basically, it is all one big confusing mess. It is best to go by visual size analysis. Or find a schematic and compare the actual size of the ships.

Re: Rebellion Ship Set
The cannon cannon stikes again.............. [censored]! Man I shouldn't have to say this to any one here, We are not using the Star Wars scale because it is worthless in the Space Empires universe. I am looking at the Rebellion chart, and yes the Destroyer is listed as a dreadnought, but that scale is not a size based scale. When they set up the game they used a very differant system to determine what a ships is. That system was and I quote "Just pick a name and thats cool." That said, there was NO REAL organization to the ships. They just threw together odd ball designs and randomly named them. THEY DID NOT organize them as we have to do in Space Empires. Therefore according to this scale, what is a dreadnought in Star Wars, is now a Destroyer in Space Empires. |

You tell 'em, Atrocities. Do it your own way!
No really, everything looks fine as it is. I have no complaints. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |

And they list an Escort Carrier as the Dauntless Cruiser so I do not put too much faith in the accuracy of that site. |

The Dauntless is the second largest cruiser in the Alliance Fleet. Built from the hull of a luxury liner, it carries and excellent sensor package and countermeasures equipment. Extra shielding and armaments were added to make the Dauntless an effective frontiline ships. Cruiser in this case is defined under SEIV terms as a Dreadnought. Comparing the Dauntless to the Dreadnought Class Frigate. (Dreadnought here only being used to describe that this class of Frigate is the most powerful class of frigate) Dauntless Turbo lasers - 120 F - 60 Aft - 200 P - 200 S Ion Cannon - 60 F - 60 A - 200 P - 200 S Laser Cannon - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 http://www.astempire.net/NASY/nasy/r..._Destroyer.PNG Alliance Dreadnought (Frigate) Turbo lasers - 40 F - 40 A - 70 P - 70 S Ion Cannon - None Laser Cannon - None For the purposes of Space Empires IV, this Dreadnought class Frigate is a Destroyer and Heavy Destroyer. |
