Can\'t get it to connect under Mac OS 10.4
 

I just got a new installation of Mac OS 10.4. I installed dom2 from the cd, applied the latest patch (which required me to read the forum and learn that you have to give yourself write permissions on the .app before applying the patch), and then tried to connect to my current game. After I type in the IP address, dom2 hangs and never asks me for the port number. If music is on, it continues to play music, if animated backgrounds are on, it continues to show a magical starfield, but no game.

Any hints?

Beats me why that happens. But try to restart the server and try a few more times. Networks are tricky.

Thanks for the followup, Johan K. I'll let you know what happens next. Currently my brother is making my moves for me.

After restarting the server, I'm able to connect. Networks sure are tricky. ;-)

(I'm a software engineer who works in networking a lot.)
