Player 2 OBAT file different or corrupt
 

Hi; I know that dos MBT is suppose to work with winMBT but I am having a problem. I am trying to play a scenario I created for my Red Army tournament for MBT 3.1 but player 2 keeps getting PLAYER 2 OBAT FILE DIFFERENT OR CORRUPT. Player 1 is USSR/E Germ and player 2 is UK. I then had my opponent set the game up from his end and sure enough I am getting the error message now.

I took a look through all the previous threads but couldn't find anything on this. Is there something that has to be modified for this scenario?

First off, just so we are clear, a sceanrio built with DOS SPMBTv301 **should** work with WinSPMBT but there is NO backwards compatibility. If one person is trying to play a tournment or PBEM with DOS MBT and the other is playing with WinSPMBT this will NOT work.

I'm a little confused by your description. This sounds like this is an old sceanrio you had sitting around but I really am not sure if you are trying to play this with two WinSPMBT players or if one guy is trying to play in DOS. ( ?? ) are both sides pre-set and pre-picked and each player just deploys or is everything deployed? Are you playing this as a CD version tournament game or a regular secure PBEM??

From your description, you are trying to play a PBEM with someone who has the old DOS game?

That won't work, as the PBEM security system is completely different in the obsolete DOS version of the game. Not to mention the core code having changed in WinSPMBT!.

Just to clairfy. I created the scenario in the dos version of MBT about 1 year ago. I now want to play this sceanario against another human with both of us using winMBT.

OK, both sides are already in place on the map then?

Nobody has to buy anything to start?

Are BOTH players using the SAME OOB in their games for each nation that is represented in the sceanrio?

If yes to all attach the scenario and I'll look at it.

Yes, both sides are already on the map etc, as per a normal scenario you get with winMBT. Scenario attached, called Fintel Ridge.

Ok, ignore this. I just happened to be doing a second install of winMBT today and noticed a file saved on my disk titled obat007 fix. I checked and sure enough obat007 is UK - obviously my opponent doesn't have this fix installed.
