And Errors Still Do Happen
1 Attachment(s)
Got this one today while playing the Expanded mod. Thought I would share it with you all and see if any of you can tell me what caused it. I was simply trying to move the fleet at the top to a planet that would resupply it when the error banged up loudly.

Re: And Errors Still Do Happen
Why is that "0" there in the center of the bottom warp point?
Sorry I can't help with the problem, I've never seen it before. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Does reloading from a previous savegame then moving the fleet still give you the same error? |
Re: And Errors Still Do Happen
I was directing the fleet to that point when the error occured. The resupply world was on the other side.

Oh come on Narf, with that little mouse mind of yours I thought for sure you would know what Access Violation was? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: And Errors Still Do Happen
I think it boils down to this: I tried to put the BIG ships through the tiny little whole and the game didn't want to participate in that exercise. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: And Errors Still Do Happen
It looks like a general map error, when data files get mixed up and the map was created under one set and you are now using another.

Re: And Errors Still Do Happen
An access violation error occurs when a program tries to read or write to a memory address which is not allowed to. at least that is what i know.
edited: spelling. |
Re: And Errors Still Do Happen
When the game loads it creates an array from the data files. If the data is altered or changed it would still use the information in that spot to try to run the game. In loaded games all the data is stored for use in the array and any change in the data will cause different data to be used in place of what was originally there.
