Twisted sense of Humour

I swear, they must have programmed this game with a 'deviant humour' racial ability. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif. The things that sometimes happen, its turn 77 in my current game and a random event has my planet that houses the Fate Shrine III (reduce bad events in system) suddenly have a core instability (planet go boom)... Of all things!!! ARRGHH!!!, time for bed.

"The Empress took your name away," said Chance.
Owen smiled coldly. "It wasn't hers to take. I'm a Deathstalker until I die. And we never forget a slight or an enemy." -Owen Deathstalker.

Isn't it ironic?

But it raises the question: Has anybody tested if the Fate shrine really works? I know this is not that easy to test but the reason I ask is that I tried (again) to make a counter intelligence facility that uses the ability of the Fate shrine to reduce the chance of sabotage actions. I may have made a mistake but it did definitely not work altough I pushed the value to -90%.

I think the operative word here is "reduce" and not "eliminate" the chance. I see here we have another religious fan. I too like the religious trait. I have not directly tested the Fate Shrines but the others seem to work. For instance, I rarely ever build Urban Pac's because of the shrines.

Also, for you doubters of the religous tech, the Talisman is AWESOME - you NEVER miss with direct fire weapons, I mean NEVER. Even at max range. If you like beam (or other direct fire weapons), you gotta' try the Talisman!!

You do realize that this thread is nearly three weeks old? http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Anyway, the... gas... released by mammals of the planet Terra consists mainly of methane and sulfer dioxide. The sulfer dioxide smells. The methane does not. Those who bring up the smell of "Natural Gas" (which is methane, sold as fuel) should know that the smell comes from an additive to warn people that there is gas present, so get out and don't make any sparks.

Oh, and just wondering... Did you forget your Ritalin? http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

And, FTR, that additive is a sulfur compound as well (generally methyl mercaptan). Methane is basically odorless; simple hydrocarbons don't start having odors until one hits at least propane or butane.
