\"Kitchen Sink\" Cannon
Ok. Assume first that the following things can be done:
1) Weapons that require supplies will stop firing when supplies are depleted. (bugfix) 2) A quantum reactor & any "Unlimited supply" effect only refills you between battles. (so even bases need enough supply storage to Last one battle http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif) Now you can build the Kitchen Sink Cannon The KSC will: - have a range of 1 - have a reload of ZERO - Target ALL - Be Point Defence. Note: this can be multiplied to speed up gameplay. - Use up 1 supplies per shot - Do 1 damage per shot. So, when all your other defences have been breached, you can throw your chairs, videogames, garbage, even the kitchen sink out into the path of an oncoming enemy. You can fire the KSC an unlimited number of times in one turn --> throw as much stuff out as you want. The problem is that most ships will have 2000 supplies (or less after movement & gunfire) So you can only do 2000 damage, at range 1, and then you become dead in the water. This is a Last-ditch weapon: if firing the cannon did not win the battle, you are dead. Comments? |

Hrm. Ship with several pieces of crystalline armor would basically ignore it unless you boost the damage WAY up. With only 1pt per hit, even emissive armor will matter.
You'd probably be better off (sanity-wise, as well) just asking Malfador for a special ability designed for this -- something like an Infinite option for supplies, plus a damage multiplier based on supply usage. Weird. Incidentally, this reminds me of the time I used Dehacked to make _Doom II_'s "Super Shotgun" to fire ALL its shells in one huge volley. You could take out a Cyberdemon in one volley with a full load... if you hit. But then you wouldn't have any shells left for the Flying Kamikaze Demon Barrels (they flew, rather erratically like how the demons walk, and tried to blow up in your face). ------------------ -- The thing that goes bump in the night |

Ah, yes Doom.
Have you tried making explosive blood? You really have to be an elite player to get anywhere with that! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif Other things to try: -Blood & bullet puffs change into health potions & armor helmets. (make sure the change is instant, so the game dosen't crash) -Fist of BFG bLast http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif -Negative mass enemies http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif monsters fly towards you when you blow them away. You get a lot of gooshing guts in your face that way. hehe http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif -Change your pain frames to that of the archvile attacking. Ah Doom modding... I think about the biggest change I ever really made was making the minigun fire like it was a real minigun, not a civil war era gatling. Hehe 6000 rounds per minute, even with the normal gunshot noise, it actually sounded like that teeth grating, whirring buzz at that rate of fire. Hmm... wonder if I still have it installed on my 486.
