First attempt at a LRA/Mau Mau scenario!
1 Attachment(s)
I would welcome feedback on this cheap and cheerful scenario.
The details are: The Hunt for 'General China' Date: January 15th 1954 Battle Location: Mount Kenya Region, Mathira Division, Kenya. Battle Type: LFA / Mau Mau delay vs Kenya & UK advance Description: Kenyan Home Guard scout and KAR Army units, with British support are to sweep the area to the North of the road. Kenya Police Air Wing spotter and RAF Lincoln bomber support is available. Look out for stores and ammunition caches. Notes: If played against the AI the human player should take 'Player 1'. Historical Note: Waruhiu Itote ("General China") was actually wounded and captured whilst with six other LFA/Mau Mau fighters on a mission to obtain weapons. I have enlarged the operation to also represent the large scale sweeps then underway in the Mount Kenya area. Design by: Andy Weaver aka 'Weeble' Warning If you do need the air support, keep your head down!! |

Re: First attempt at a LRA/Mau Mau scenario!
Good small scenario. Underlines the problems of calling in heavy airpower against a thinly spread well dispersed enemy:
ie. Hello Bomber flight, goodbye the lead elements of my force. The delay in the reinforcement time for the air units really creates a dilema: do you steam in with the infantry and risk high losses as the Mau Mau will always get their opfire in first, or do you wait for the firepower to wipe them out and have to keep you distance, meaning a last minute dash for the v-hexes.... a tricky one. |
\"Friendly\"(?) fire.
I did warn you about the air support http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
