Its that time again!
 
New Invasion! PBW game!!

Invasion! Official 0.50 is now accepting players!
The mod now has a pirate race. This should make the game a blast to play for everyone. Of course the dreaded player controled space monsters will make their return. As well as everyones beloved normal race http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Hm actually i may need another game, now that im only playing one adamant and one devnull mod game. I had like 7 games just a couple of weeks ago.
I will download the mod, and if i like it, i will join the game. Hopefully it isnt the same mod as the last time i played, when there were a couple of...unbalanced...things in it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well the testers and I in the last game went through 6 or 7 versions to get what we are using for this game. I am very confident that we have solved the majority if not all of the problems.

Hey can I get some background info on what this whole "invasion" PBW is and how you guys go about it?

Well theres 3 races
Monsters
Pirates
Normal

This game will feature a fair ammount of RP because of the pirates. Monsters kill and kill and kill. Normals are played like you would a stock race but there are alot of new components, ships, and facilities added.

The game will take place in a 255 system WPL Paradise. This game will be massive. In the previous game we have made it to sphereworlds being constructed but because of some balance issues earlier in the game the monsters really couldnt win but this game all of that is fixed so it will be quite fun.

Not sure what else you might want to know

Eh, I think the monsters need balancing. The "Berserker" and "Bloodthirsty" happiness types mean that one major setback can drop their happiness in the toilet, making it harder to rebuild the fleet you absolutely need since the only significant way of reducing your population's anger is winning fights.

Also, are the crossover tech armors supposed to be much larger for their damage resistance than the normal armors?
EDIT: Also, the Pirate Corvette hull says it has a 750% maintence reduction.

EDIT EDIT: I also expect to see everybody simply putting self-destruct devices on their designs so that the pirates can't get them. And the mosnter Immune System appears to no longer provide acutal boarding defense, meaning that one level 1 boarding party could destroy any monster.
