\"Fix\" units
I've noticed in campaign files that some artillery has a "fix" in its description. What would be the difference between that and "aux" units?
Anyone know? WB |
Re: \"Fix\" units
WB,
If this artillery is an "on-map" unit, then the "FIX" status make it stationary during your deployment phase. If the unit has "AUX" instead of "FIX" then the player may decide where to deploy it (inside the deployment zone) during his deployment phase. If the artillery is off-board then there isn't any difference between the two status. cheers, Pyros |

Thanks Pyros, clear and concise. I appreciate the prompt response...WB

"Fixed" aux troops are ones that you the scenario designer in the campaign have decided to grant to the player, but - you decide where they go and the player cannot fiddle with that start location (which, as I recall, can be anywhere on the map, and so not restricted to the deployment zone). The latter bit could be useful. Ordinary auxiliary troops as Pyros says, are extra troops supplied for the scenario and deployed as the user sees fit for the scenario in the normal deployment zone just like core and support troops.
