Campaign Start Line

The manual indicates the key to use to make a start line but does not detail how to set the start line after pressing the key.

I'm going to assume that you would type in map coordinates, length and width, but in what format, with semi-colons, dashes, spaces?

Re: Campaign Start Line

The start line is the blacked-out line you deploy up to. The human player gets to deploy up to that line (depends on his map side). It goes from the top of the map to the bottom of the map.

Therefore the only valid entry for the deployment line's location is the X value.

Re: Campaign Start Line

Like Andy said, you can only set the E-W start line. You cannot set each hex to curve or angle the Start Line like you are probably familiar with in SPWAW.

You can mark out a convoluted player deployment area with the 'text' functions, using dashes, slashes, etc. as forward line. Players could cheat if they are so inclined, but then again, they can cheat in a variety of ways if they were so inclined.

Something i've done in the past is use text as a deployment line for regular troops, but allowed Recon elements to deploy as far forward as possible. it keeps units from bunching up in one area.
