OT: Places not to go

South Africa

When you the deputy president saying we need "The skills of Zimbabwe" cross that place of the list of destinations.

What are the skills of Zimbabwe anyway? Armed mobs, rigging elections, shooting the opposition and starving the population to death. They don't seem usefull 'skills' to me...

Useful for those doing the armong, rigging, and shooting.
BTW, you forgot "fuelling racial hatred" and "bulldozing entire shanty commmunities out of existence".
Mugabe has turned into some kind of charicature of a military dictator. If he wasn't a complete [censored] psycho in charge of an entire country, he'd be funny.

Living proof that power corrupts and being a dictator of a central african country turns you insane. He was, apparently, all in favour of democracy and the 'good guy' when he first became leader.

Still when your replacing a bunch of white supremacists you do have to work quite hard not to be the good guy. This makes it all the more impressive that he has managed to make life worse for everyone in the country, apart from his mates.

Go to comebackalive.com for a list and synopsis of the worlds most dangerous places. Yes, South Africa and Zimbabwe are listed as well as some places in the USA. The website is written by ex reporters and ex NGO's who have been around. I had really hoped that by now South Africa would have become some sort of regional superpower in that part of the continent, bringing stability and prosperity. I guess the only ones prospering now are private security firms.

Europe.... I hear they want to hang Americans from trees and beat us to death with rocks and twiggs. Ouch.

Now that's just blatantly untrue! We Europeans all believe that Every Last American is overweight with the IQ of a rock! A Tree would never support their weight http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

For those who easily take offence please note the excessive use of SARCASM in this post.

I'd be careful however. I once got into trouble by jsaying I had read that the movie, "The Madness of King George the Third", had the number at the end removed in the US because americans would think it was the end of a trilogy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Hmmm, didn't see South Africa on that comebackalive.com website (I might be going there in January.) I did read the article on Sri Lanka though (been there twice in the last two years) which was a little chilling. Very informative, although I though they took a little too much sardonic pleasure in all the gory descriptions.
