USMC EFV Speed
Hi,
I was looking over the EFV and noticed it listed a land speed of 22 and a swim of 8, as compared to the AAV7A1's speeds of 20 and 6 respectively. According to the USMC's EFV project website: "The mobility of the EFV utilizes a state-of-the-art 2700 Hp diesel dual-use (land and water) engine. This engine, coupled with counter-rotating water jets, has enabled the EFV to achieve water speeds in excess of 25 knots and land speeds up to 45 mph." I beleive the max water speed of the AAV7A1 is about 8mph, so obviously the numbers are off here. As both vehicles are attributed to posess land speeds of 45mph, thier ground speed rating should be the same, but the swim speeds need to be fixed. 25 knots is about 29 mph, so if a speed of 22 is about 45mph, then the swim of the EFV should be a 14, and an AAV7A1 should have a swim of about 4.
