Possible bug with patch...
Excellent work on the patch--thanks much for the updates on availability and the timely release.
I loaded up the falklands scenario, and no sooner had I started rallying troops I noted that rallying from pinned to ready reset a squads movement, and gave them half of their shots back, even if they had already reached zero shots remaining. While the British paras enjoyed this power-up, I had to question the intent of the designers before allowing them to continue...;-) Over to you guys...seriously, thanks so much for keeping this favorite game alive...Stephen |
Re: Possible bug with patch...
Hi,
This is a known issue that is already under investigation. Anyway thank you for mention it. cheers, Pyros p.s what may be interesting would be if anyone could reproduce this random (rare) rally problem; if so, please attach a save file. |
Re: Possible bug with patch...
The problem isn't so rare. What I've seen is if a unit moves, takes opfire, gets pinned and then rallies back it has full move and fire.
However if I find a spot where I can reliably repeat it I'll post the save. |
Re: Possible bug with patch...
I notice this effect occassionally in the SPWW2 games I play too. Might trace back that far. For some reason it seems to happen more often (although still rarely) after an assault attempt.

Re: Possible bug with patch...
From what I have experienced up to now the conditions of the problem are:
1. the unit has done full move (0 move points left) 2. The units is suppressed and pinned 3. The unit has received op fire For instance, once one of my unit has destroyed an enemy ammo depot and it has received casualties from the secondary explosion while at the same time other hostile units have also received casualties. The result of all this was the return of my full move points. As you can read no rally operation was effectuated but still my unit has gained the full move. My impression is that this issue is connected with a positive morale check while the unit comply with the previous mentioned conditions. Anyway, this reminds me of a similar "BUG" condition in another SP variant, where the gamey tactic (in order to make a unit "fit" to move) was to shoot (Z-fire) at your own pinned or routed unit. cheers, Pyros |
Re: Possible bug with patch...
I've seen it happen (in SPWW2 though) with squads who had not spend their entire movement but lost the movement points left due to becoming pinned. They had lost some movement points (but not all) due to limited movement and/or firing.
Not sure if this also applies to this game but still... Narwan |
