What is this message?
 

I was starting anpther battle in a generated camp. and when I was done and started the game, the screen went blank and then in the lower left hand corner a message popped up which read " Delay length 2". And then my artillery started. What does this mean?

You must have pressed 'y' or ',' just as the battle started. It's a development tool that allows a temporary override of the message delay length.
