Mobhack troubles.

I made a scenario. The sound for one of the weapons was in my opinion wrong during play i.e it did not sound like a Mosin carbine 44. I got a soundfile (WAV) and put it in correctly into the sounds folder and edited the sounds.ini correctly too. I then went into Mobhack and edited the Russian OOB; wherever I saw carbine 44, or whatever it is called, I typed the sound file name in (242 for instance)I then went through the usual rigmorole (f12 and such) and saved my edits. I load up the scenario and low and behold the damn sound plays wrong again. This has happened to me on numerous occasions and each time I have had to delete all the offending units and start afresh. Can I solve this problem without having to that yet again?

As far as I know, WinSPMBT stores the sounds internally with the unit. In other words, you'll have to replace/repurchase all units using the Mosin carbine 44. Then the correct sounds will be used.

Re: Mobhack troubles.

If you change a rifle sound you should build a simple test scenario and ensure that the unit you changed is bought. The way to do that is rename it or add a ** to the name so you know you ar buying the unit you changed the sound in. What frequently can happen is you buy a unit that hasn't been changed then when you run the test it's the old sound. Changing the name is a simple way to ensure you have the one you want. The new sound SHOULD play for you IF you have it entered into the sound ini file exactly like the others

Looks like I will have to redo the Scenario again though.
