XP in server room
 
Just a quick comment. Bought the game, really happy with it. I don't like the whole xp system, though. The reason I bought the game is because it's quick to play and doesn't require a lot of involvement. So to me, the xp system just doesn't fit with this sort of game. Also not a fan of having to lobby to play with a friend anyway, but I can deal with that. The XP thing, though, I'm really unhappy with, as is my friend who also bought it so we could play. It's going to turn it into one of those games, "Well, I *WOULD* play it, but.." and I'm not going to get my money's worth because of some arbitrary rule that keeps me from accessing content.

Any chance of ditching the xp system or at least making it optional if both players agree?

In case you didn't know, if you select "Random" you have a shot at any race (it's not restricted... sort of a bug and a workaround at the same time).

Plus the first few levels do go by quickly - you won't be limited for long.

I was told that XP-locked content was ditched in 1.10, which is due out *very* soon.

Well, in 1.10, races will no longer locked by level, but maps still will be.

We decided to try that as a middle ground to still give players rewards for advancing in level, but let players play any race they want from the beginning.

But if we hear from you guys that you don't like the maps being locked either, we'll probably open up all maps to all players as well in a future patch.
