Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space Is Complete
News Release For Immediate Release
It's Gold, Jim! Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space Is Complete! Hampstead, NC, 13 October 2005 The other night the staff of Shrapnel was enjoying a night under the summer sky, sipping a wonderfully robust cognac while discussing whether, in a fight to the death, if a rabid platypus suffering from narcolepsy could beat a drunk Carrot Top, when something fell from the bejeweled heavens in a blaze of light. Crashing into the ground the mysterious object left a smoking crater that we cautiously approached. Was it a meteor? The remains of the Monolith as it burned up in orbit? Closer to the pit we could make out a tiny saucer, and from that tiny saucer a tiny figure emerged. Large of skull, gray of skin, the small humanoid was coughing up its tiny lungs onto its tiny, shiny suit. With one last ragged breath it stretched its hand out, holding a CD. Its universal translator squawked out, "Greetings from Digital Eel. It seems I miscalculated the gravitational effects of your planet when I programmed my ship to land. I came to bring you this." The hand wavered as we took the CD from it. Mission accomplished, the poor little guy wheezed and keeled over. The neighbor's dog ate him. He seemed rather chewy. Back to the CD.in our hands, delivered straight from the aliens themselves, was the gold candidate for Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space!! We have gold, Houston!! Shrapnel Games is extremely excited to announce that Seattle-based Digital Eel has just completed their next great game, Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space. Now golden, the next stop is the Shrapnel production facilities, and from there onwards to conquer the known universe! Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space is the staggeringly brilliant follow-up game to the original, epic coffee-break game of space exploration, Strange Adventures In Infinite Space. Designed for Windows, the sequel is everything you enjoyed about the first game, along with a whole parsec or two of new stuff guaranteed to make even a Vulcan get excited. We're talking gorgeous new graphics, amazing new encounters, even more challenging combat, and more secrets than the strange guy down the hall who always wears that stained raincoat. But what if you never played the first game? Shame on you. But here's what you can expect. Imagine it's the future and you're the captain of your own starship (which is one of three possible designs). Imagine now that you could become rich and famous by taking said starship out and plying the unknown space lanes of the infinite universe. The catch is that you only have a limited amount of time. So you do just that-explore the universe-- and along the way you discover strange new lifeforms, gather unique artifacts from previously uncharted worlds, and battle fiends from beyond time and space. And you do all of this in under thirty minutes. And never even double-click once. Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space is an endlessly replayable game that boasts addictive gameplay, ease of play, friendly modability, and a wealth of discovery, all playable on your hectic schedule. And it's only $24.95. So what are you waiting for? Make the jump to lightspeed and head over to the Gamers Front and grab yourself a copy: www.gamersfront.com/cgi-bin/store/category.cgi?item=42210&type=store . When it ships you'll be one of the first ones to have it!
