Novels Illwinter Might Write
There was a bit of speculation on the Dom2 IRC channel on what the guys from Illwinter might do after they've finished Dom3. Quantum Mechanic said they might do Conquest of Elysium 2, since they would probably want to keep their mythological focus. I suggested perhaps they would write novels instead. Here are a couple of the titles we came up with:
Burning Desire: Tales of an Abysian Succubus Tartarian: The Gripping Story of One God's Struggle for Sanity Invent your own! |

Well, it would be Conquest of Elysium III, actually...
Hmm. I'd hate to actually have them start writing, because that would mean less game-making, but some stories would be interesting to read. Most of the heroes: Marius Lorca, the Black Emerald; Spornsjarl the Wolf Lord of the Vaetti; Niklatu the Lizard Hero, aka the cold blooded Casanova; the Vanheim human who has won Jotun drinking contest; and dozens of others. And of C'tis they could write at least as much as Robert Jordan writes of Wheel of Time: Ekishnugal the First King (hero of Desert Tombs), Etimmu the Wraith Lord stole Sauromancers' secrets and was salin by a Lizard King The Cataclysm and the Fall of Ermor was caused by elders who learned their magic from C'tissians; however, even in the days of Broken Empire, Zirru the Grand Thaumaturg is continuing the tradition of C'tissians serving as Grand Thaumaturgs to help in containment of evil. The whole Serpent Cult was established by C'tissians, and after they left the human priests of the cult started wielding snake masks. Miasma could make an entire series on its own, both from the side of C'tis and from that of their human neighbours. And then consider what Illwinter the spell would mean for C'tissians... And pretenders, oh, they could make wonderful stories too. Just yesterday I encountered beautiful series of pictures by Fredrik Andersson in his Elfwood gallery. Check the Acts one through five. They tell a beautiful story of an unnammed goddess, the Grim Goddess of the Underworld, the Goddess of Vengeance, The Keeper of the Thousand Souls, The Goddess in the Tower of Tears, Bestower of Wisdom. |
