Repair bays
Searched the entire forum and the question remains: do RB's on the same ship stack? Or is it a sector thing? How about a SY and RB on the same ship?
Thnx. |
Re: Repair bays
I think RB do stack... but don't quote me on it.

Re: Repair bays
1) All repair bays in the sector are added together.
2) Then your racial modifiers are applied 3) All repair points are applied to an arbitrary ship which has at least one component in your priority list which is damaged (see the budget screen, repair priorities is a button there) 4) Priority components are fixed first, in the order of placement on the ship. 5) Then non-priority components on the same ship are repaired in order of placement. 6) If the ship is completely repaired before all the points are used up, goto 3 and pick a new ship to repair. |
Re: Repair bays
I love you math guys who know all this stuff. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Perhaps your answer should be added to the FAQ? What do you think?

Re: Repair bays
hey suicide junkie, could you create a wiki article for Repair Bays and add that info to that page? that would be awesome!

"5.5 Repairs and Retrofitting" Has all that good stuff, although according to Douglas the order the ships are repaired in is not completely arbitrary. It might as well be arbitrary since we can't control it ourselves I suppose. |

Re: Repair bays
Great answer(s). Thnx all. I didn't think to check the FAQ! Du'oh!
BTW - would you put more than one RB on a fleet tender? |
Re: Repair bays
I tend to build ships brimming with repair bays. You don't need them often, due to poor stock shield balance, but you tend to need a lot on the occasion you do need them.

Re: Repair bays
When I do extensive retrofitting, I usually build a few stations with lots of repair bays too.
