Question re Modifiers

I assume that the Morale Mod. and Experience Mod. that you see when buying units are just direct modifications to the units individualized Morale and Experience ratings. Does the morale mod effect the Rally rating at all?

How does the Rout/Rally preference setting get applied? Does it effect the baseline Morale and Rally ratings of all the individualized troops on that side?

And what about Troop Quality -- by boosting troop quality in preferences are you effectively increasing the baseline Experience level for all units? Does it effect any other variables other than Experience?

Thanks.

From the Mobhack help, Formations tab section:

Quote:

Experience and Morale modifiers - leave at 0 and the formation (and any sub formation) units when bought will use the default experience and morale and hence costs (depending on whether national characteristics is on or off in the game preferences). Otherwise - positive numbers increase experience (training) levels and cost, while negative numbers will reduce these, and purchase cost.

So - a formation with modified morale and or experience will add or subtract from the national (or base you set if national training is off) baseline figures for morale and experience.

Cheers
Andy

Re: Question re Modifiers

Thanks Andy; the helpsection you quote kind of implies that both experience and morale modifiers only adjust experience. You clarified that my assumption that morale modifier changes morale was correct.

However ...
(1) Does Troop Quality (assuming national training is off) effect anything other than Experience?

(2) Does the Rout/Rally Preferences setting set the baseline Morale and Rally scores for the units, the same that Troop Quality sets the base experience? The explanation in the help guide is a little vague.

I'm trying to get a handle on these because I'm going to try a multiplayer game with an operational activity level. The easiest way I can discern to have operational level activities "affect" the units at the tactical level, short of hand-modifying them for every encounter which isn't feasible, is to adjust the global mods. E.g. units out of supply for 'x' days may suffer troop quality adjustments or rout/rally adjustments.

Thanks!

1) TQ sets the base experience for all troops on that side, ignoring the internal tables for that nation.

2) Morale and leader experience always comde from the tables. The rout/rally in preferences is a percentage modifier (that is why the default shows 100% http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. 90% means the unit's chance to rally will be 90% of the default for that nation at that year. 110% and they will rally a bit more often.
