Problem with Mod Pack ver 1.70

I'm having a problem with the Mod Pack ver 1.70. Some of the main AI's (EEE, Earth Alliance, Drushocka etc..) are not doing anything. They just sit there on one planet and don't respond to diplomacy, build ships or anything else that I can see. Does anyone have an idea on how I did this ?. I have attached a save game if anyone wants to take a look. Any help would be great.

RW,

When you add an exsisting race during game setup you have to edit them and turn on the "computer controlled" AND "Use race minister style" options. It looks like you turned on the first but turned off the second.

Ok, that sounds good as I did not edit any of the empires at game setup. I wonder why some of the AI's seem to be doing ok though ?.

Re: Problem with Mod Pack ver 1.70

When I play a game, I usually add one or more (or all!) of the TDM races. After I set all of them to computer control and use race minister, then I tell the game to add either a low, medium or high number of computer players. The game automatically picks some number of computer players to include in the game. The game automatically sets those randomly included races to compouter control and use race minister.

That is what probably happened here. I'm guessing the manually added TDM races aren't doing anything while the automatically included races are doing just fine.

There are two ways to create computer controlled players (other than those chosen randomnly by the game).

(1) [PREFERRED METHOD] In the game setups screen make sure you edit the AI players you added by selecting the "computer control" and "use race style" boxes (then select create empire when done)

(2) [OR] you can simply add them, and switch them to computer control from within the game (but this will require you to go to each race the 1st turn and within their "Empire" options turn on all of their AI ministers.

The first way is preferred because the computer AI's will utilize their starting research point bonuses. If you manually switch them the 1st turn, they have effectively lost their research bonus that everyone else starts with (dependent upon start-up option).
