Small arms data faulty

The small arms data in winspmbt OOBs is unreal.

For example, FAMAS F1 and FAMAS F3 have the same data, so what the fun having these both in the game. All rifles small arms with iron-sights have accuracy level 1, whereas all small arms with optical sights have accuracy set to 6.
This is not fun. FAMAS F3 is the improved version of F1, it makes no difference in the game. Why should an assault rifles have the same accuracy as a pistol? it shouldn't.
When put in trials, SA85 was found to be perhaps the most accurate weapon in Europe! It was put through tests against G36, AK47, FAMAS, and M16. Other weapons, such as MG have accuracy differences in the game. could this be included in the next upgrade?

Hi,

Everything is set according to the magnitude of the scale.
For instance if the scale was big enough you could have different values between the various rifles but with the current scale there is not any real point of doing this.

Also, you should know that most (if not all) of these values have been tested for many years, by many thousands of players. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Are you talking accuracy or range? Accuracy of any weapon has as much to do with the person pulling the trigger as it does with the weapon itself.

And it doesn't. If you are going offer criticism of the game the least you can do is bother to get your facts straight

"Pistols" except in two minor exceptions are accuracy zero..NOT one as you claim . A weapon like a pistol with an accuracy of zero and a range of one does not have the same effect on gameplay as say, an FN with an accuracy of "1" and a range of 10.

Play the game. It's more interesting than digging through OOB's. We have spent a considerable amount of time tuning game play around these numbers . We feel that infantry combat is well represented. "Accuracy" is but one piece of the equation that makes up combat results in this game.

Really? Which ones? I was under the impression that a selection of stuff is common across the whole OOB set.

IIRC: These are pistol, rifle Hand grenade sniper rifle and the 1000Lb Bomb. They all seem to have the same weapon slot in the OOB’s.

NOTE: I'm asking out of curiosity, not an attempt to argue why one pistol is more accurate than another.

Re: Small arms data faulty

The "two minor exceptions" are OOB errors that have already been corrected in the OOB's that will be released in the v2.5 patch. In one case the pistol had an accuracy of 1 and a range of 1 and the other had a accuracy of 1 and a range of 2. Both have been corrected to match the 90 other OOB's where pistols have an accuracy of zero and a range of one.
