NEW BUG!!!
I can't use my shift key in Windowed/Fullscreen. I can't use my shift key at ALL. It just gives me C++ Visual Basic Runtime error and kicks me to desktop. This means i can't move units onto OTHER units which sucks.
Any suggestions or is this a known bug? Ive looked through the threads and help files and can't find anything on it. |
Re: NEW BUG!!!
This is definitely your issue, not a game issue. Something this huge would have come up sooner if it effected even a slightly substantial portion of people.
My shift key works fine in both fullscreen and windowed mode (I never used windowed, but did check). I suspect your drivers are not up to date? What vid card are you using? Try to update all your drivers (video, chipset, mobo) and make sure you directX is up to date. Thats a strange issue, regardless! |
Re: NEW BUG!!!
My stats from DirectX are in the attached file.. but something very wierd ive noticed:
I have TWO Display Adapters in my Device Manager view. Radeon 9200 SE Family graphics card and Radeon 9200 SE SEC Family graphics card How odd.. Why two? I also seem to have a problem with one of my sound codecs.. but why would sound affect my shift key? Very wierd... |

This is not a known bug, and as has been noted, it is such a basic function of the game that it would have been reported by nearly everyone. from your DXDIAG results: Quote:
- Turn the mouse click off in the Game Options programme. - turn both sound options OFF in the preferences screen. If your problem then goes away, you have definately got a sound problem (whether a goosed card, drivers, or a bad CODEC you will need to determine by examining your system). The other possibility, if you have been able to play for a while, and from the out of memory error reported, may well be a RAM error of some sort (either general RAM, or sound card RAM). Re: NEW BUG!!!
I'm having (had) the same problem, and it's a sound issue. It's brand new for me, I haven't had sound problems before. Turning off the sound fixes the problem. Turning the mouse click off doesn't help, but turning sound FX off does, and battle FX doesn't affect things. Reinstalling from the CD and upgrading to 2.0 then 2.5 didn't work. DirectX isn't reporting any problems. Changing to WinME compatibility didn't seem to fix things, _but_ uninstalling my new 3rd party (non-MS) sound and video codecs fixed the problem. My suggestion would be to see if you have installed any new sound codecs and remove them and revert to Microsoft ones if you can. If you want to replicate the problem you could start by downloading the Satsuki Decoder Pack 2.0.0.6 from Satsuki's Website

Im know my way around a computer but.. thats a little too advanced for me. Trust me, ive tried looking in the FAQs and other threads and i just dont understand them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Re: NEW BUG!!!
Don't worry about the second video card. Just the secondary output for dual monitor support.
