"If Fallujah isn't hell, it must be in the same zip code!"
(Statement of a US Marine involved in the fierce fighting in Fallujah)

Player Notes:

This battle should be fought from the US side only. It can be played as a two player game if the Insurgent side is set to 85 percent efficiency in the preferences menu prior to play.

In this scenario your goal as the US is to move toward Highway 10 to the south. You must take the three victory hexes and keep your losses to a minimum to achieve a decisive victory. Be careful with those Abrams tanks. Losing them is costly.

A number of buildings have been booby-trapped (mines, yes mines!). Use caution when entering buildings.

Historical Background

The large city of Fallujah is located some 35 miles to the west of Baghdad in Iraq. It as large as many of the bigger cities in the US, with a population of over 300,000 had proven to be a festering sore to the allied plans of a "free" Iraq.

Unhappy with the situation there, it was decided to sweep through the city and neutralize the insurgent movements within it. Not only Iraqi dissidents, but Sudanese, Syrian, Chechnyan and other foriegn units, strongly opposed to the west and yearning for an opportunity to fight and die for Allah, had prepared themselves well for any allied foray into "their town."

On November 8th The United States Marines and the US Army committed 8 full battalions along with every type of support imaginable to the attack, beginning in NW Fallujah. The plan was to sweep through the metropolis and take out the insurgent movement that thrived in the area. Rebel resistance was not as strong as expected, although some rebels fought very hard as they fell back.

The same Zip Code:

DV USMC: 3224 Insurgents: 92 It was over after 10 turns.

I lost 38 men and a HMMWV( RPG hit), a LAV25 was damaged by RPG, a crewmen killed and the AAMG damaged. Some Abrams were hit with RPGs but shrugged these off.

Insurgents body count was 292, only suriving units were a insurgent team with two guys left, their HQ and a SPG recoilless rifle team (a Packhowitzer used for indirect fire).

Was carefull with my tanks and moved my jarheads very cautiously with mutual fire support. Didn't help the MG Units though, they were lost to indirect fire.

Had the strangest SP-MBT moment as a Hornet targeted a HMMWV with a 1000 lbs Paveway, it hit the hex, a message popped up, stating a hit but the car suffered only blown tires. ;]

All in all a nice counterinsurgency scenario, keep them coming!

And i checked twice to be sure the Preferences were all to 100%, couldn't believe the numbers at first.
