Clearing orders on warp damage?
So, when a ship happens to take damage from a damaging storm or warp point, do they clear their current movement orders during simultaneous movement?
So far I'm 3/3 with losing ships that take damage warping through a damaging warp point near a black hole. I'm wondering if it theoretically helps their chances of making it through to add armor and speed, or not... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif PvK |
Re: Clearing orders on warp damage?
If a ship takes damage from "terrain" features, it clears its orders in simultaneous movement. There is no way to disable this "feature". There is, however, a chance that the damage won't happen, so if you keep trying long enough eventually something will get through unscathed. Armor and speed do not affect this at all as far as I know.

And unfortunately, even if you don't lose any components due to high hitpoints per component / low damage applied, the ship still stops.

like to call this the "Brain Fart" phenomenon.

Re: Clearing orders on warp damage?
Thanks!
(AT, at least, in space (close enough to a black hole), no one can smell their brain farts... or at least, not long enough to escape the event horizon... Interesting though - it brings to mind another possible use of storm creation - fields of damaging storms to create an obstacle to slow down advancing enemy fleets... |
