Lenient arty game mechanics?

I've been playing MBT since the releasing of the win edition thus I'm not an experienced player. So I'm still "discovering" the game and this forum has helped me alot.

Reading a post I "discovered" that you can retreat your on map artillery offmap and still have it fire !!! Searched a bit more and found out that arty reinforcements can provide offmap counterbattery before their arrival turn.

For the "active arty reinforcements" a argument was provided. That the reinforcements are an "active" part of the "arty pool" of the higher level of command until released to the lower (tactical) formation. Ok let's accept that. I would like to hear the rationale for the retreating offmap but still active arty, though. (For me this is a bug by definition.) At least I hope that the arty retreated offmap is an eligible counterbattery target as “normal” offmap arty (isn’t it?).

Comments?

on-map artillery which retire or retreat off map should not be able to fire. If it can - it is a bug.

Andy there is an attacment (test scen) on post:
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...o=&fpart=1

I retreated the Russian Gvozdigas offmap (minus 1 which remained onmap). The next turn (after the retreat) they were available on the arty screen and fired as normal offmap arty.

All other info as per the above post.
For a moment I thought that everybody knew this except me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
