What does this mean?
I just installed the .35 patch and have started playing on a map I modified with the map editor. When I end my turn, it goes throug player two, and when it reaches player 3 I get this message.
AI Fleet Settings Errors: C:/Yadda yadda yadda. Unknown value "Maximum Weapon Range" for Fleets Default Strategy in record "Fleet Settings". I have started other games with the same map but different races, and I then get a message dealing with AI design creations. Since installing the patch I'v gotten more error Messages than ever. What does this mean and how can I fix it? I have not messed (I think) with anything that seems to deal with the AI files. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. ------------------ Rules? What Rules? i don't know what it means but if you've been playing for a while can u help me out in how to start a good game like what to research build first all that stuff

I got same sort of error message with an existing (TDM MODPAK v 1.70-based) game. *shrug* just means there are lines in the AI design_creation.txt file that has a non-standard setting (did you install a non-default racestyle with some of the AI files already for it?)

Well, any kind of error about fields and text files is a bug with the mod than the game. I think thats whats causing your game to say that.

Yeah - most if not all of the downloaded races will require some tweaking and updates to make them work with 1.35 (i.e. mainly in the design and strategies file area as you have identified). We are working on the next Version of the TDM ModPack as we speak.

Just a heads up for the creators of these races, and those that havn't gotten thier problems resolved yet.
Pyrochette in the Base Ship Yard entry of the DesignCreation file: Error with Misc Ability 1 Name - doesn't see to like having it be a weapon, to get by until you get around to correcting it I just replaced it with cargo. Rage In both fighter entried I needed to replace Combat Sensors with Combat To Hit Offense Plus Rintax (if he stops by or if anyone knows him) The improved error checking (v1.32 #6) picks up all of the old Combat To Hit Dec names as errors instead of just not using ECM, and the common Phased-Sheilds instead of Phased Sheilds |
