Frustration mounting :) Land\'s End.
Have really enjoyed the game, mostly play skirmishes against the AI for some coffee break fun at work.
That said, Land's End is really getting my goat. I get precisely nowhere. If anyone could PM me with a first few turns suggestion, I'd really appreciate it. Most of the other 'hard' maps, I figured out in a few tries. Land's End however has me quite stumped -- and fairly irritated http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Thanks! |

I started with a Hag, and then produced lepers for a while. General strategy is to initially focus on getting as many towns on your side as possible, then blockading the entrance before storming evil's base. You can let Evil run around - he can't do too much damage unless he jumps on your capital. Just hire a cheap unit on vulnerable cities to delay him.

Yeah, basically Evil spends the first few turns converting cities inside the locked area - let him, and buy a few hags for quick conversion. Then he'll move west - don't concentrate on him, simply delay him by buying a cheap unit on cities he could move to.
Troubles can start when he gets Missionaries - if he starts healing units Evil converts, you could get swarmed. Kill the Missionaries when they move out, and you should be able to push Evil back. When things start getting ugly, Apprentices in the mountains are great - Evil cannot kill them in one go, so another Apprentice can heal them. Same goes for Sorceresses with any kind of cover. I wouldn't make too many Hags after the initial rush, as they're a bit fragile. |
