Delete the figthers from CarrierBattles mod?
 
I'm wondering how many people would be interested in a PBW game as suggested by Tesco:

Carrier Battles. Minus the fighters.

The ships in CB are quite fully capable of doing everything on their own, but without the crutch of fighter support, things should get a lot more nasty and violent http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

So, it's CarrierBattles without the carrier battles, so it's not really carrier battles, it's CapitalShipBattles, except it's in CarrierBatltles, without the carrier battles...

Carrier Battles mod without fighters?

I can believe it... You can reason that fighters just don't have enough mass to hold enough fuel for them to do much of anything in deep space combat. Pretty eash leap of logic.

IIRC Carrier battles minus fighters would be heavily missle oriented right?

I dunno;
In CB 1.4+, fighters tend to launch a lot of the missiles.

Without fighters to worry about, big guns would become a lot more useful.
I think it will turn into an age of sail type naval battle system.

Some 20mm gunboats to keep the missiles off, but mostly heavy battleships exchanging broadsides with 80mm & 100mm guns
