OT: Windows Xp compatibility issue
I was going through some old games the other day and ran into a problem. I was attempting to install the original risk back onto my laptop. However i got a response when i went to install after the auto-run came up saying it required windows 95 to run. Does anyone know how to fix this problem,i.e. like dosbox can help run dos based games. Is there and emulator or program that will go around the win 95 requirement.

Re: OT: Windows Xp compatibility issue
The is a compatibility mode in WinXP. You can install and runs certain programs using this mode, and the specific mode for the OS...like Win98 and such...if you right click on a program installer, or executable, under properties, there is a compatibility tab.

Unfortunately, it only seems to work half the time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif For true emulation, get Vmware server (free) and set up an emulated windows 98. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
