Fully loading a vehicle AFTER the deployment phase
If I load my troops using the 'load all' button from the human deployment screen, I can get a squad of infantry AND a Javelin team into a Bradley.
Once they debus, or if I decide I want a differnt mix (like as in, "lets take a bunch of missile guys up to the hill above those rocks and drop them off to make life hell on anyone coming down the road.") I am unable to get more than one unit into any given vehicle. I'm an old time Dos vers player and had the same problem there, I've taken a spin through the manual but did not see how to go about it or even if I could. Is this possible? Mike |
Re: Fully loading a vehicle AFTER the deployment phase
Mike,
If you have two infantry units (for example A1 & A2) and one vehicle on the same hex and you wish to load both infantry units on the same vehicle you will need to do the following actions: 1. Check if the vehicle's carry capacity is bigger or equal to the total men of both units (UnitA1 number of men + UnitA2 number of men must be smaller of equal with the vehicle capacity). If the carry capacity is smaller than A1+A2 then you can't load both these units to the vehicle. A carry capacity of 108 means that the vehicle may carry a total of 8 men, while a carry capacity of 112 means that the vehicle can carry a total of 12 men. 2. Select infantry unit A1 and press the LOAD button (or the "L") and then select the Vehicle. Result: Now you should have one Infantry unit A2 and one vehicle (loaded with infantry unit A1) 3. Select infantry unit A2 and press the LOAD button (or the "L") and then select the Vehicle. Result: Now you should have BOTH Infantry units loaded on the same vehicle. cheers, Pyros |
Re: Fully loading a vehicle AFTER the deployment phase
As Pyros says - with normal loading, to load multiple units into a carrier, you need to select the prospective passenger and "load to" the carrier vehicle, as once loaded, the load button if applied to the carrier will unload[ it.
See: Game Guide "Deployment menu", table of hot keys, and the note below it on the "L" key, "Note on loading and unloading". The "load All" L-D sequence works at any distance in the deploy screen (turn 0). In the game itself, it works for all but the passengers must be in the same hex as the transport(s). Select one of the pax, and press L then D, and the entire platoon loads up, providing they are a) in the same hex as the transports and b) the load capacities are right (e.g. if there is one short squad and a team that need to load onto a single transport, the short squad and the team must be in the same hex). That is described in the next para of that part of the GG "Load/Unload options ". (It is also mentioned in the "Deployment menu" section of the GG, but as a refernce back to this section) Cheers Andy |
Re: Fully loading a vehicle AFTER the deployment phase
jeeessshhh, I've been doing it backwards all along..
I've been doing load with the vehicle selected as in" "Bradley loads the infantry into itself" Rather than: "Infantry (then missile team) loads into Bradley" |
