This website is probably the best fanfiction/hypothetical ever for the Trek pre-TOS period. If you like to see a well reasoned out pre-TOS ship designs, or just simply curious as to how they should look you must come here. You will be surprised that they look pretty well. The designs look simply, clean realistic and possess a strong retro-charm to them. The ships also have interesting stories and backgrounds with reasonable analysis of their tactics, weapons and techs used. Ships here range from the time of First Contact to just before TOS, and includes combatants of the Romulan-Earth war. I sent him an email asking him to develop a ship set upon his work. Man talk about a treasure trove of unique and brilliantly designed ships.

Too bad they don't have a lot of 3d images to go along with the 2d images. These ships would make an awsome ship set. Either way, they still would make an awsome ship set even without the 3d images.

Did you check out the link I posted? The owner of the site has created several 3D scenes.

Maybe you could ask him to provide some of the models or create some bitmaps for you to develop a shipset...maybe the guy might even get into Space Empires?
