Map editor : little problem

Hello

At first many congratulations to the team of Winspww2 for their great work.My problem is in map editor. When i want to convert the streams into wide rivers with [ O ] and i try to regulate how wide i want to make it,in taping shift + the wished number, i obtain always the same width for all numbers from 0 to 9 . Probably i make a mistake . Someone can tell me what to do . Many thanks in advance.

excuse me for my very bad english

Ahh..... I see

Don't press Shift http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif just enter the number

When the game asks you how wide you want to the river to be just press a number. Also remember you only get one shot at this. Once you've made a stream a wide river you cannot ask it to do it again becasue the stream is now gone

Many thanks for your answer . I just try it . Naturally it's better but I don't see a great difference beetwen the obtained width with numbers 1 and 9 for example . I must probably try again .

Re: Map editor : little problem

??? I walked through the procedure when I asnswered you the first time and produced a "9" wide map

When the game asks you .........

"Are you sure you wish to convert all streams to rivers? Y/N"

Press Y ( only Y )

when it asks you ........

"How wide do you want to make it? ( range is 0 - 9 ): "

press 9 ( only 9 ) not shift, not any other key and you will get a river 18 hexes wide. If you want an 8 hex wide river press 4. The numbers are set up to measure the river width from the centre to one bank.

Sorry Don

I understood very well what you explain to me . I follow exactly your procedure and i press only 9 without shift and not other Key but i don't get a river 18 hexes wide . When i try the operation on other map in pressing 4 to obtain an 8 hex wide , i obtain the same with i obtaines before. I join to you two snaps which more speaking than me

I'm going to guess this may be a keyboard issue. It works OK for me every time. Which numbers are you pressing? The ones above the main keys or the "keypad" group

Don

I press only the normal numbers above the main keys and not the "keypad" group . My computer is a Toshiba satellite P30 with windows xp pack2 .I know that the french keybord is a little different of anglo-saxon keybord . I must ask to my french friends if they meet too the same difficulties . If i cannot use very well this tool, i will use the hex water fonction to wide the rivers . In any case thank you for your attention .

Don

I believe i found a solution for my problem . After i pressed the [ O ] , i press caps lock and then i follow the normal procedure :

"Are you sure you wish to convert all streams to rivers? Y/N"

Press Y ( only Y )

when it asks you ........

"How wide do you want to make it? ( range is 0 - 9 ): "

Now it's ok . Perhaps this method will help others gamers who meet the same difficulties with their keyboards .
