UCP Star Trek Races UPDATED
 
I have posted updated Versions of my Star Trek Race files and ship sets in the downloads section. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/For...ML/000017.html

UCP Klingon V1.06
UCP Romulan V1.06
UCP Federation V1.05
UCP Dominion V1.05
UCP Ferengi V1.05
UCP Cardassian V1.05
UCP Borg v1.05

THE UCP KLINGON AND ROMULAN are ship sets only with no AI. The others have old AI based upon the previous patch. Sorry about that, but I am not an AI design specialist. I would however, appreciate any and all help in the AI department for these races. Thank you, and enjoy.

As to the AI files for the change to the current patch(1.35) the changes are mostly in the spelling/syntax. Savy has been changed to 'Savvy' in the General AI file, and in the Design Creations file the reference to 'Phased-Shiled Generation' is now 'Phased Shield Generation' (no hyphen), and in the 'fighter' part of the creation the reference to 'Combat Sensors' is now replaced with 'Combat To Hit Offense Plus' (it IS case sensitive).....these are the only changes I know of so far. Hope it helps.

I am working on 'tweaking' the current Borg AI (just for myself right now) but if you want me to post it when it's finished I would be glad to. The current mix of missiles/trac beams just dosn't work. Esp since in the AI files it dosn't research beyond missile 1. So far they are now holding off the Rage and the Colonials (and neck and neck with my own Y'Gathian Free States!). In a 30turn game (which encountered that save game error http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif) they were #1. They now use a mix of APB/Trac beams with the research to back them up.

I consider myself to transfer the AI I modified for the Cue Cappa to the Borg giving them the psychic trait, because IMO that's the closest of assimilation you can get in SE IV. The boarding parties are just not a good choice. The CueCappa in my game have ships of all races, they are at war with, in their fleet, which is really fun. I am now working on the problem of ships with repair components to include in these fleets.

I'll post what I have tomorrow after I get it off of the p133 I currently play the game on (this 'new' computer is too fritzy http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif). I thought of a cuecappa type but the subverter just seemed too out of place. The movies had trac beams and cutting beams so thats what I used. APB/trac beams with boarding parties. So far, so good. Havn't actually seen them take over anyone but I've only played one game http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif. And the BIGGEST problem with repair is that if you don't have the tech already researched it won't repair the componant (or never for racial tech you don't have), which is realistic but a pain.

KOOL! you just answered a bug question I had. After I installed 1.35, I got errors about all three of those things! So, um, any ideas of how to fix them? (See my thread "Is this a 1.35 bug?")

No contest there Daynarr, http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif, you guys are the masters, I am just a hack http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif. But seriously, I am posting my changes so far but they (the Borg) still have a problem with boarding/taking a ship. I have seen it done (in a game way way back in patch 1.19) but can't get it repeated. I changed the 2ndary movement/firing pattern from Optimal to Board Enemy Ships in the Settings text for Optimal Firing range and this STILL does not seem to help.

Any thoughts........(or is this still a contest? http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif)
