Mod Question

Can someone tell me where I can find the 'neo-standard' mod? If it's even a stand-alone mod, I'd like to get some use out of the extra ships in the ship-packs.

Re: Mod Question

Neo-Standard isn't a mod. Neo-Standard is a guide for shipset creators and mod makers. It allows people to create shipsets that will include images for most mods available, and will allow modders to make mods that will work well with most shipsets available.

Granted there are mods will hull types that fall outside the neo-standard shipset, which is why some people make sets are are called neo-standard+ (or however many + should be on there).

Some mods that take advantage of the extra images in a neo-standard shipset are; Adamant Mod, Carrier Battles Mod, Pirates & Nomads Mod, there are others as well, but I am tired and high on muscle relaxants so I'm sure others can fill in the blanks. People love to plug their mods http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re: Mod Question

Neo-standard isn't a mod, it's...well...a standard http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif A standard for shipsets. If a shipset is neo-standard compliant, it has all shiptypes that are used in all mods. In other words, the shipset will work in any mod, even those that have different/more sizes and types of ships.

Many mods utilize the extra ships that the neo-standard standard requires, though I can't give you any of them off had. Though I'm sure someone a little more knowledgable than I will come quickly and let you know! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Dogscoff's site has a lot of information on Neo-standard and a list of mods and shipsets that are Neo-standard compliant.

Cool, thanks Kamog, that'll make things easier for me. I think I'm gonna make a neo-standard ship mod. I want the extra ships, but not really any other modifications.

Re: Mod Question

Everything everyone else has said is correct, but you might be thinking of the neo-expansion pack. It's a set of images to make the default shipsets (almost) neo-standard compliant. Here:

Grab the Proportional response pack while you're at it:
