CBMod Seekers
After reading up on all the cool things in Carrier battles mod, I tried it out with some designs and the simulator as well. In regular tactical mode and also in the simulator, in 1.94 Deluxe, I wasn't able to fire missiles or direct fire weapons on the seekers.
Is there some trick I'm missing? I gave each ship gun crews, a couple masers and a bunch of missiles to try it out but it didn't work. Before that I was playing around with the different fighter designs the game recommends, in 1.4, and thats how I discovered that the kinetic anti-missile missiles don't seem to work. Has anyone got the anti-seeker stuff to work in this mod, and how? With as much as people have been playing it there must be some trick I'm missing. |

Anti-seeker weapons are auto-fire only. This means they will only work for auto-resolved tactical combat or simultaneous combat modes.

The short answer is that the SE tactical combat User Interface does not allow you to fire on seekers.
so, Strategic combat only. Tactical is like cheating against AIs anyways, and you can't do tactical in multiplayer games. Besides which, you don't *want* to do tactical combat with 300 ships and 5000 fighters blasting each other http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
