Manual with cd?
 

Here's what it says:

Printed manual and physical CD.

I was surprised. Is that a complete printed manual with the cd?

If we were to print the entire manual, it would have been 400+ pages at that size AFAIR, and it would have added some $30+ to the cost at the very least, and also added signifigantly to postage costs due to the weight, and the fact that a box would be required (more cost) to contain it etc.

The printed booklet supplied with the CD editions is therefore a "Quick Start Guide" with relevant extracts from the full manual to get new players up and running. How to install, and the tutorial walk-through to get them up to speed on basic gameplay. (It also fits the CD case format, so does not add too much to production & shipping costs.)

And in any case the HTML Game Guide has hyperlinks, and can be searched which a chunk of dead tree cannot http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. Plus the images are in colour and full-size.

(I have never seen the finished product - so have no idea if the imagery is in B/W or not. I do know the images required reduction in size to fit the CD case format.)

53 pages, pics are BW.
The last pages are Hotkeys list. Nice for new players or returning old timers.
