Strangest bug I\'ve ever seen!
The situation:
Dark Nova 4.22 mod, SEIV 1.94, PBW game. I received some methane breathers to complement my O2 breathers. I have a fast transport to spread these new populations around. To speed up their reproduction I've given the transports orders to drop the methane breathers on a methane colony that already has my O2 breathers. My intent is to then remove the O2 breathers the following turn. The problem: When it does this, the Methane breathers are converted to my native O2 breathers! I thought I must have been imagining things so I tried it again. And again the exact same thing!! In all my years of SEIV, I've always done population transfers this way and never seen this happen so my assumption is that this is a Deluxe bug, or at least, 1.94 bug. So I tried to upgrade to 1.95 and I keep getting a message saying that SEIV isn't installed on my computer!!! My first thought was to re-install SEIV but I no longer have my SEIV Gold CD http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Hey, this is starting to sound like an Atrocities story... (/me checks for paint-gun weilding red necks next door...) |

Another point:
I can't see this being mod related, but if that is possible someone let me know!! |
Re: Strangest bug I\'ve ever seen!
Wierd. Keep a copy of the savegame. When your PBW game is done, you can post it up here for us all to gawp at. In the meantime, maybe you should send a copy of the save to Malfador.

Re: Strangest bug I\'ve ever seen!
Bearclaw: Check where your registry value for your default SE:IV location is. Edit this string to match it's current location and it should resolve any patch issue. This happened to me because I kept making duplicate folders of the original install and then tried to apply the patch to them.
I'll try to duplicate this in one of my pbw games. |
Re: Strangest bug I\'ve ever seen!
Weird. I have never seen a bug like this, even though i spent quire some hours with SE IV, though probably not by far as much as some other people in here did.

Re: Strangest bug I\'ve ever seen!
do you perhaps have any facilities that affect the growth of population on that planet? either % rate or flat growth from cloning?

Re: Strangest bug I\'ve ever seen!
None. It has a space yard and nothing else.
