Hi all. Does anyone know the designation for the Matilda Frog vehicle flamethrower?

With ref to the RAAC Memorial and Army Tank Museum:

They define this as:
Infantry Tank Mk II- Matilda Frog Flamethrower

Normally called Matilda Frog

If you mean the actual flame projector, I have not seen that listed anywhere. I doubt it was an off the shelf item as such.

OK. Cheers mate on that one. How about flame throwers in use through the world? I'm finding it hard to find information (primary recon tool: the internet) on them. You see, I'm tweaking the OOB's and I'd like to remove the generic "Flamethrower" entry and be a little more specific...:)

Well its a bit pointless being too specific as this unit was only used in teh pacific. jungle is a bit restrictive with range.
The quote max distance/range was 145 yards, but action/engagement range being 15 - 30 yards and occationally 90 yards.
Again the Frog was only Pacific and did not really hit the deack till 45.

Any idea about man-portable FT's? Post-WWII would be bonza!!
